  11. I have been getting dropped lines for about 6 months now.  My GVC is used as a 
  12. dedicated dialup to the ISP.  They went from sportsters to Couriers recently.

  14. After trying billions and billions of init strings, and seeing alot of other 
  15. messages from other GVC users, I believe(I hope I'm wrong...) that the 
  16. retraining process the GVC uses is not compatible with most other modems.

  18. Most people with GVC's connecting to my ISP have the same problem.  We can go 
  19. 2 weeks without a drop, and then suddenly the line drops while I'm staring at 
  20. the modem.

  22. I have talked to someone who has the same problem, and their ISP uses Microcom 
  23. modems.
